Blue. Blue is the colour of the ocean and the sky; symbolising inspiration, serenity, stability or wisdom. A primary colour, it represents reliability and is often considered one of the most calming colours to exist.

People all around the world are experiencing hardship. I wanted to paint a femme who is calm, determined and compassionate to support us all. She understands as she feels it too. You can tell by the way she's looking you calmly and reassuringly in the eye.

Dragonflies fly freely, representing adaptability and reflecting our ability to change and transform.

Golden wattle surrounds my femme - Australia's national flower and a symbol of unity and resilience. (I thought that this was very appropriate given the uncertainty that many are facing currently.)

In terms of the background, I adapted a popular Japanese motif, which represents peaceful living as well as good luck.

Finally, the little butterflies in her crown represent what I wish for you during this period of uncertainty: hope, endurance, adaptation to change and life.
